This update cable may be a needed component at some point. I’ve owned the product for 2 years now and Actron has not yet had one single update. Someone in the previous review postings said the driver isn’t available. Hogwash, here is the link to the driver:

While there has been no updates in 2 years, it doesn’t mean that there won’t be in the future. I think what they’re waiting on is all the new CAN information to become available before writing the update. The CP9175 code reader can be used on the new CAN systems as well as the OBD II systems.

I bought this cable expecting an update from Actron. After reading the other reviews, I figured that after TWO years Actron would get their ACT together and release an update. However, I checked today and still no update. Why would you release a product that is useless for over 2 years!! The scanner works great, this cable is not worth buying unless they come out with an update. Save your money and invest it in a better Actron scanner.

The CP9137 has been around for nearly two years and Actron still has no updates available! Don’t bother with this cable until they do!

I bought this cable to go with the OBD II scanner I also bought at Amazon. It’s supposed to allow you to get updates from the Internet. But when I went to Actron’s website they reported online updates weren’t available yet. So why did they sell me the cable?? Pretty expensive cable that has no use other than to fatten their coffers.
